Our Philosophy
We believe learning happens by living, experiencing and doing. By asking questions and seeking answers. By nurturing
curiosity. And understanding and embracing that it doesn't always happen in a straight line.
curiosity. And understanding and embracing that it doesn't always happen in a straight line.

Krista has been homeschooling her 4 boys for over 13 years. She loves the flexibility that homeschooling provides as well as the close relationships that it has helped foster within her family. Over the years, she has dabbled in just about every style of homeschooling from very structured, to Waldorf, to Classical, to very lose and flexible and everything in between. All of that dabbling has resulted in a truly eclectic style of homeschooling that allows her to offer each child what they need to help them grow and explore what really excites them. One of her favorite things is to challenge her kids through problem solving and critical thinking. It results in some great conversation and it's so fun to watch their brains work as they figure things out and come up with some truly creative solutions. Krista is very excited to be able to offer classes in the homeschool community that are based in all of the things that she and her family love about homeschooling.

Barb Martinez |
Though her 15 year homeschooling journey is officially over, Barb's zeal for quality education is not. There are so many great, fun and interesting ideas for classes and she wasn't done yet. She is excited to share her love of creative, activity-based, learning-by-doing style with your kids. From mummifying chickens, to building compost, to creating labs for AP Biology. There is no subject that cannot be made more captivating. Not one for single-subject curriculum, Barb tried to "kill as many birds with one stone" in her approach to education. She feels that the subject matter should be the framework for learning to think, think big, think critically, solve problems and synthesize information. She is looking forward to continuing to inspire kids with her sincere zest and enthusiasm for learning.
